On 1 July, Senior Consultant/Principal Leonie Janisch participated in the webinar “Sustainability in Offshore Wind: From Industry Standards to Public Policy” organized by the Foundation for Offshore Wind Energy (Stiftung OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE).

Ms. Janisch presented on opportunities to integrate sustainability and decarbonization criteria into future offshore wind tenders.

The session also covered:

• New guidance on product carbon footprints for offshore wind;
• Transparency and sustainability throughout global supply chains;
• The role of harmonized standards and carbon accounting methodologies; and
• The implications of the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA).

Ms. Janisch spoke alongside experts from Carbon Trust and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
