This conference, held in Hamilton, Bermuda on 20-21 May 2008, examined from legal and claims perspectives the effect that new and emerging risks will have on the global reinsurance market. Lucy P. Allen, Senior Vice President and Chair of NERA's Mass Torts and Product Liability Practice, participated in a panel discussion entitled "Emerging Economies and Product Recall -- Are the Claims Coming?" The panel discussed product recalls from China, D&O exposures, the risks and needs of the insured, first party vs. third party recall, trade and risk, and the ways that products are underwritten and offered.
