Members of NERA's Global Antitrust and Competition Practice joined an expert faculty at the ABA Section of Antitrust Law's annual meeting in Washington, DC on 21-23 April 2010 for a comprehensive review of developments in antitrust and consumer protection law.

On the first day of the meeting, Senior Vice President Dr. Lauren Stiroh participated in a session entitled "Taking and Defending Expert Deposition Testimony," which addressed strategies and tactics for taking and defending depositions of expert economists in antitrust cases. Senior Vice President Dr. Ramsey Shehadeh spoke in another session on the first day entitled "New Merger Guidelines -- The Role of Economic Tests and the Relevance of Market Definition." The panelists explored the role of the economic tests in merger analysis, such as critical loss and upward pricing pressure, as well as the practicality of tests.
