The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to lower the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for ozone. Participants in the workshop provided an independent evaluation and synthesis of key considerations for approaching the difficult ozone NAAQS decision. The workshop was available via webcast and the proceedings will be prepared and made public. During the event, NERA Senior Vice President and Co-Chair of the Environment Practice Dr. Anne Smith gave a presentation entitled “Assessing the Potential Economic and Distributional Impacts of a Tighter Ozone NAAQS.” NERA Vice President Scott Bloomberg gave a presentation entitled “Challenges in Estimating Costs of a Tighter Ozone NAAQS.” Videos of the webcast will be made available at tera.org.
