On 6 April, NERA Berlin will host the most recent instalment of Strommarkttreffen (Energy Markets Meeting), a monthly roundtable of energy economists and engineers discussing topical issues in energy markets. Key topics of discussion will include the reform of the European Union's Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the scope for and design of possible CO2 price floors, as well as possible changes to energy taxation. Those possible changes would aim at incentivising the most efficient path to reducing carbon emissions across different sectors of the economy.

NERA experts Sean Gammons, Daniel Radov, and Dominik Hübler have previously published on the effects and pitfalls of possible unilaterally-introduced price floors in the UK, Germany, and France. They will share those insights as part of the discussions.
