A properly prepared expert is critical to successfully mounting or defending a competition law claim.  The challenge of presenting expert evidence is even more pronounced when it comes to economic experts, who must be able to articulate complex theories in a manner that can be understood by judges who may not have a great deal of experience in economics.

NERA Managing Director, Dr. Graeme Hunter will join Andrew Borrel, Partner at Fasken Martineau DeMoulin LLP, and Randall Hofley, General Counsel and Senior Enforcement Advisor at the Competition Bureau Legal Services, in a panel discussion hosted by the Canadian Bar Association’s Competition Law Section. The session, “Style and Substance – Preparing and Presenting Expert Economic Evidence in Competition Law Cases,” will be held 12:00 – 1:00 pm (EST), Tuesday, 22 May 2018. The session will provide participants with best practices drawn from experience before US and Canadian courts, and from the Competition Tribunal.
