NERA Associate Director Dr. Chris Stomberg will participate in a panel titled “Dealing with Lost Chances and Other Uncertainties in Evaluating Lost Business Opportunities” at the 8th Annual Damages in International Arbitration Conference hosted by Baker McKenzie.

The panel will focus on the challenges arbitral tribunals face in determining whether a business opportunity will be profitable and whether claimants may be awarded damages for lost chances. The panel will also explore whether there is a split between English and New York law on damages for “loss of a chance” or the lost opportunity to operate a fledgling business.
