Los Angeles
24 September 2019
Hosted By: Winston & Strawn, Los Angeles

NERA Director Dr. Elizabeth Newlon and Senior Analyst Barbara Kaleff presented their analysis of labor trafficking patterns found in the client-intake data provided by Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST), to the Los Angeles office of Winston & Strawn. Accompanying Elizabeth and Barbara were Phil Gnaedig, CAST Task Force Coordinator, and Nagwa Ibrahim, CAST Legal Director.

CAST is a non-profit NGO in the Los Angeles area that provides care and support services to sex and labor trafficking victims. Since 1999, CAST has collected detailed information related to the trafficking experiences of its clients. This unique database has allowed a seldom seen glimpse into the structure of economic networks that traffic people for their labor.
