New York, NY—NERA Economic Consulting is pleased to announce that Dr. Christine Siegwarth Meyer has been named Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice and Dr. Faten Sabry has been elevated to Chair of the firm’s Securities and Finance Practice.

Dr. Meyer is considered one of the foremost testifying economists in the areas of complex commercial litigation involving intellectual property, antitrust claims, and commercial damages in the United States and Canada. She analyzes damages and has provided expert testimony concerning issues arising from patent, trademark, and copyright infringement; the misappropriation of trade secrets; and breaches of contract. Dr. Meyer has evaluated antitrust claims and damages in numerous cases involving IP issues, including alleged reverse payments, antitrust counterclaims to patent cases, claims of fraudulently obtained patents, and monopolization claims. She has also analyzed the competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions, the volume of commerce for criminal investigations, and economic issues involving alleged resale price maintenance and price discrimination. Dr. Meyer earned her PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BS in economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Dr. Sabry is widely recognized as a leading economic testifying expert in the areas of securities, bankruptcy, and complex damages. She has performed analyses involving issues of class certification, econometric modeling, liability, fraudulent conveyance, and damages in cases ranging from contract disputes to valuing a portfolio of mortgages. She has assessed risk management models and examined the prudence of investments including hedging strategies. Her research has been published in the Journal of Structured Finance, Journal of Investment Compliance, Journal of Alternative Investments, Business Economics, International Trade Journal, and others. Dr. Sabry received her PhD in business from Stanford Business School and was awarded the JM Olin Graduate Fellowship, the Graduate School of Business Fellowship, and a Ford Foundation Fellowship. She received her BA, magna cum laude, and her MA in economics from the American University in Cairo.
