Competition lawyers and economists from around the world convened at this annual ABA meeting in Washington, DC on 26-28 March 2008 to examine all aspects of US antitrust law, as well as consumer protection law and non-US competition law issues. NERA Special Consultant Dr. Richard Rapp took part in a panel discussion entitled "Proving and Disputing Damages at the Trial of an Antitrust Case." The session focused on the necessary proofs and best strategies for pursuing and defending damage claims in antitrust trials, how to cross-examine a damages expert, and effective damage arguments and types of visual evidence. In addition, Senior Vice President Dr. Lawrence Wu served as one of the economic expert witnesses in a mock trial program. The trial revolved around a Rule of Reason analysis of the competitive effects of a resale price maintenance agreement.
