Over the past two years, US federal agencies have engaged in activities that indicate an interest in updating guidance on bank mergers. For instance, the Department of Justice requested public comment on bank merger competitive analysis, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation put forward a request for information on the Bank Merger Act, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency hosted a Bank Merger Symposium.
