On 13–14 May, Senior Managing Director Richard Marsden and Director Hector Lopez will present at the 2nd Caribbean Spectrum Management Conference in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. NERA is a proud knowledge partner of the conference.

Mr. Marsden will chair the opening session titled “Towards a Unified Spectrum Strategy: Advancing Harmonization in the Caribbean.” The panel will evaluate the advancements in regional spectrum coordination, the obstacles encountered in achieving harmonization, and the path ahead. The panel will also review ongoing efforts, including updates from the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) Spectrum Management Taskforce on the development of the Caribbean Spectrum Management Policy Framework, and discuss whether a completely harmonized framework is attainable considering national variations throughout the region.

Mr. Marsden will also chair the “Navigating the Future of NTN: Spectrum Policy and Licensing for Emerging Satellite Technologies” panel to discuss global best practices, evaluate emerging trends in NTN technologies, and analyze how Caribbean policymakers can create forward-thinking frameworks to balance innovation, investment, and fair access to spectrum.  

Dr. Lopez will present in the panel discussion “Spectrum Licensing, Pricing and Renewals Masterclass,” which will examine how regulators can balance revenue generation with affordability and accessibility, ensuring pricing structures encourage network expansion and digital inclusion across the region.

Dr. Lopez will also chair a panel discussion titled “Empowering the Future—5G Strategies Across Caribbean Countries.” The panel will examine the roadmap for 5G in the Caribbean, the business rationale for investment, and insights that can be gleaned from global experiences to inform an effective and sustainable strategy for the region.
