On 8–9 May, Consultant Yasmine Frizlen will participate in two sessions at the 6G Global Summit hosted by Forum Global and the Communications Authority in Hong Kong, China. NERA is a proud knowledge partner of the conference.
In the first session, Ms. Frizlen will moderate a panel discussion titled “Sustainability—Balancing Innovation with Environmental Responsibility.” This session will explore how essential principles like power efficiency, renewable energy and materials usage, and circular economy practices can influence 6G standards and infrastructure, including energy-efficient base stations and sustainable data centers. It will also emphasize the vital role stakeholders play in promoting this agenda through collaboration, policymaking, and practical implementation and investigate the innovative technologies and new approaches required to meet the performance and capacity expectations of 6G while minimizing the network’s energy footprint. Ms. Frizlen will be joined by The University of the West Indies Professor of Digital Transformation Policy and Governance Lloyd G. Waller, NTT Docomo Chief Standardization Officer Takehiro Nakamura, and University of Oulu Director of Sustainability and Regulation Marja Matinmikko-Blue.
In the second session, Ms. Frizlen will speak in a panel discussion titled “6G Futures—Interactive Insights and Emerging Use Cases.” The panel will examine how 6G will integrate with other technologies to transform industries, urban infrastructure, and consumer experiences, creating new opportunities and driving societal progress. Ms. Frizlen will speak alongside University of Hong Kong Professor and Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department Head Kaibin Huang, CMHK Technology and Innovation Management Manager Alan Xu, and Office of the Communication Authority Deputy Director-General Esmond Chiu.
