NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Lawrence Wu spoke at a seminar on recent developments and trends in pharmaceutical, medical device, and life sciences antitrust enforcement. Among the speakers were Richard Feinstein, Director of the FTC's Bureau of Competition. The seminar, which was hosted by ReedSmith, was held in Philadelphia on 2 December 2009. Dr. Wu took part in a panel that addressed the use and misuse of competitive intelligence and other antitrust issues that arise when competitors seek information about what competitors are doing. The panel also discussed the manner in which prosecuting authorities and private plaintiffs will try to distinguish pro-competitive unilateral conduct from coordinated/conspiratorial behavior.
