16 June 2011
Hosted By: the George Mason University School of Law
This conference, hosted by the George Mason University School of Law on 16 June 2011, examined the ways in which the search engine and online advertising industries operate, as well as how these relatively young markets may evolve. Dr. Michael Baye, the Bert Elwert Professor of Business at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and a Special Consultant to NERA, participated in a panel discussion entitled "Competition and Online Advertising." The panel addressed a number of issues, including the difficulties in defining online markets; whether advertising markets are the same across web properties; the relationship between online and offline properties; and the ad market for search and content services.
