NERA will have a strong presence at the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Antitrust 2019 Spring Meeting, with President Dr. Lawrence Wu, Associate Director Dr. Subramaniam (Subbu) Ramanarayanan, and Senior Consultant Nathan Blalock speaking throughout the conference. The Spring Meeting will take place between 27-29 March in Washington, DC.

Dr. Wu will speak in the session “Antitrust ’Markman‘ Hearings: Cartel Class Certification Battles,” presented by the Antitrust Magazine, Civil Practice & Procedure Committee, and the International Cartel Task Force. The panel will answer the question, “What are plaintiffs’ and defendants’ best practices?”

In “Deconstructing Depositions,” Dr. Ramananrayanan and his fellow panelists will address the differences between depositions and investigational hearings, and how attorneys and economists can effectively prepare for, take, and use depositions.

In “Fundamentals—Economics,” Mr. Blalock will chair and moderate the discussion on how basic economic precepts are indispensable to effective antitrust arguments.
