On 16 June at 15:45 CEST, NERA Director Dr. Nicola Tosini, along with Deputy Head of Unit for Antitrust at the European Commission DG Brice Allibert, Commissioner of the Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission María Pilar Canedo, Director of Communications Directorate (DG Competition) Italian Antitrust Authority Giuseppe Galasso, Facebook’s Head of EMEA Competition & Regulatory Timothy Lamb, and moderator of the session, President of the Swiss Competition Commission Andreas Heinemann, will present in the third panel of the XV Treviso Antitrust Conference, in a session titled “Towards an Increasingly Digital Europe.”

Dr. Tosini will specifically discuss the navigation of antitrust enforcement against big tech in the European Union. The other panelists will discuss:

  • EU competition law and digital in the coming years, as well as strong enforcement of antitrust rules and inception of the DMA;
  • Fighting competition restrictions in the digital era;
  • The Italian experience of digital ecosystems between competition and regulation; and
  • The Digital Markets Act and whether it is an extension of existing competition law frameworks or a new regulatory model.
