On 11 May, Director Dr. Ling Ling Ang spoke in the session “Thinking About Your Portfolios Like an Economist” at the Collection and Recovery Solutions 2023 conference. Dr. Ang shared insights into how economics is applied in consumer financial services and how it can inform those in the financial industry on their portfolio.

The invitation-only conference brought together creditors and senior-level collection executives to learn about techniques, strategies, and resources for maximizing collection and recovery outcomes. Attendees had the opportunity to learn and interact about recovery-related topics such as consumer psychology, data analysis, and compliance with updates from the CFPB. The conference also included discussions on the current regulatory environment, the challenges of redefining near shore opportunities, and vendor management and oversight.
