NERA Managing Director Dr. Ling Ling Ang and Director Tilling Lee—along with Holland & Knight LLP Partners Leonard Bernstein, Da’Morus Cohen, and Anthony DiResta—recently published “A Case Study in Practical Approaches to Self-Cures in the Context of CFPB Examinations” in Business Law Today. In the article, the authors present a case study for a project aiming to implement a self-cure during a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) examination.

The authors describe a successful strategy that resulted in the CFPB’s acceptance of the self-cure redress approach proposed by the financial institution and that mitigated a potentially protracted process. They also discuss questions that arose during the case and how those questions were addressed.
