Federal and state anti-discrimination laws prohibit unfair treatment, harassment, and retaliation in employment, housing, and consumer lending, among other domains. On 14 July, Managing Directors Ling Ling Ang and Elizabeth Newlon, Jenner & Block Partner Karin Dryhurst, WilmerHale Partner Lauren Moore, and Gibson Dunn Of Counsel David Schnitzer will discuss the laws that apply to discrimination and the similarities and differences between the underlying discrimination concepts and the economic/statistical analysis methods utilized. This panel, “How to Handle Current Discrimination Risks Across Industries: What In-House Counsel Need to Know About the Evolving Landscape” hosted by the In-House Counsel Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law Section, will explore emerging risks that counsel must navigate related to discrimination generally and in the workplace, including the increased use of tools driven by AI, policy related to disparate impact liability, DEI-related claims/False Claims Act liability, and debanking.
